Our Pitch for "Crowned with Glory" by Dorena Williamson

When I first read Crowned with Glory, I immediately thought of the words “hope,” “joy” and “confidence.” On the beautiful backdrop of black hair and black joy, this book highlights a life that is filled with joy and confidence in God-given beauty.

In a world rife with unhealthy comparison and identity crises, this book is a ray of hope for many kids of color as it reminds them to love and be who God created them to be. It uses the day-to-day struggles and multiple aspects of a little girl’s life to remind young readers that, truly, joy and confidence comes from embracing their God-given identity and beauty.
